Maintaining Good Security

Quality security can be simple and affordable

We take security seriously, and that includes good firewalls, complex passwords that are different for each site that you use and each device, and quality Anti-malware/Anti-virus software. We're more than happy to help you get secured, but for those who want to look into it themselves, here are a few ideas of where to start:

Secure Passwords are ESSENTIAL

KeePass 2.0 is an excellent and free password database and password generator, which can upload and synchronize your passwords to Google Drive, Dropbox, ownCloud, and most other online storage services, encrypted, so you can access your username and passwords from your PC, tablet, or smartphone.

You can enter user names for the sites and have it generate random and secure passwords for you, which means you don't have to remember a 20 character long password that includes upper and lower case, symbols, pets names, names of the planets surrounding Alpha Centauri, etc. You only need to remember two good and complex passwords: one for the database, and one for your Windows/Linux/OS X login. You can find KeePass 2.0 here:

We're testing other options for you as well. Please check in regularly to see any updates.

Use a Quality Anti-virus/Anti-malware Software Package

The current version of BitDefender (2017) has one of the best ratings for catching and removing viruses and other malware, and is one of the top performers in terms of how much it impacts your systems performance.

They have several different options available, and packages that include protection for multiple devices: up to five PCs, phones, and tablets.

They've even got packages that provide multi-year support.
