File Sharing You Control

ownCloud is a self-hosted file sync and share server. It provides access to your data through a web interface, sync clients, or WebDAV while providing a platform to view, sync and share across devices easily - all under your control. ownCloud’s open architecture is extensible via a simple but powerful API for applications and plugins and it works with any storage.

ownCloud allows you to attach many forms of external storage, such as your current Drive, DropBox, Amazon, or network folders.

Clients used to you using DropBox to share your files? No problem. Just attach your DropBox account as a folder in ownCloud. Use a single program on your system to sync all of your files. Just open up your DropBox account in your favorite browser, and share it like you normally would. No need to have multiple programs and separate folders on your system.

 

 

 

You can also create groups for your company, Accounting, Sales, etc, and use it to share files locally. The files are duplicated to their systems, so they can edit them and the changes are synced to the server and your system, but locked while they are using them to prevent information conflicts in the files.
